Real estate magnate Niranjan Hiranandani has named his son Darshan Hiranandani as the successor to his multi-billion dollar property empire. The 36-year-old Darshan, who holds a master's degree in entrepreneurship and finance from the Rochester Institute of Technology, has been appointed as the group CEO. Already at the helm of the Hiranandani group's real estate operations in Dubai and its energy venture H-Energy, Darshan is poised to take the reins of the family's diverse portfolio spanning residential, commercial, and warehousing segments. Niranjan Hiranandani, while announcing the succession plan, made it clear that he would remain actively involved in the business, stating, "Darshan will be my successor in real estate. He is going to be the second best till I am around."

The announcement comes as the Hiranandani Group embarks on a new venture in the data centre industry. Under the banner of Yotta Infrastructure, the group plans to design, build, and operate large-scale hyper-density data centres, with the first facility set to open in Panvel, Navi Mumbai, before the end of the fiscal year. This strategic move into the data centre business aligns with India's growing digital economy and the anticipated data localization regulations. The group aims to leverage its extensive land bank of over 1800 acres across India to establish a robust presence in this emerging sector, with Darshan Hiranandani at the forefront of this expansion.
