Gynecological procedures are essential for maintaining women's reproductive health and addressing various conditions and concerns. One of the most common procedures is the Pap smear test, a routine screening for cervical cancer and precancerous changes. If abnormal results are detected, a colposcopy may be recommended to examine the cervix more closely. Other diagnostic procedures include hysteroscopy to visualize the inside of the uterus, and endometrial biopsy to evaluate the uterine lining for conditions like abnormal bleeding or infertility.

For treatment purposes, laparoscopy allows minimally invasive exploration of the pelvic organs to diagnose and treat issues like endometriosis or ovarian cysts. In severe cases, a hysterectomy (surgical removal of the uterus) may be necessary for conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis, or certain cancers. Tubal ligation, commonly known as getting one's "tubes tied," is a permanent birth control method that blocks the fallopian tubes. These procedures play a vital role in monitoring, diagnosing, and managing a wide range of gynecological health concerns throughout a woman's life.
